The Middle Bridge.



West Berks Council via Caroline Booth, kindly hired a tree contractor who brought a  tracked chipper together with three men.

This provided a great opportunity to clear some of the waste wood in the stream and surrounding areas.

Caroline Booth, Royce Longton, Jon Gibson & Mel Smethurst kept the chipper well fed.

A staircase four metres long, 600mm wide with a 20° rise was installed near the garages at the end of Hunters Hill.



Led by BTCV's wildflower expert Katrina Pengelly to identify the wealth of flora the wood has to offer.



Steps were made in the bank at the senior play area. Notices were posted nearby to advertise the Group's actions.

A comprehensive MSc vegetation assessment by Clare Pugh (Reading University).



Despite dreadful weather a team of volunteers cleared enough junk and rubbish to fill two large skips. The items removed included electrical equipment, large car parts (including numerous wheels), bicycles and bottles.



Organised to give the local community the chance to put their ideas and opinions forward. A model of the area (the wood and nearby housing) was created by children from Garlands School. Approximately 40 people attended and supplied numerous ideas. The results were then analysed by Friends of OGW and interested locals and an action plan prepared

A public meeting, to tell residents about Omer's Gully Wood project, was held at the Village Hall.
